ALYSSA’S PRETTY IN PINK (AND WHITE) BRIDAL SHOWER

There’s something about a bridal shower that makes an upcoming wedding feel so…official!

Amidst all the stress and challenges of planning a wedding, a bridal shower gives the bride-to-be and her family and friends a moment to pause, take a breather, have some fun and get excited about the big day!

Alyssa’s bridal shower was just the excitement everyone needed. Family and friends gathered with so much anticipation to talk all about the big day. Everyone couldn’t wait to shower her with love, and share how thrilled they are for her to be stepping into this next phase of her life.

As Alyssa’s step-mom, I was so honored to be part of this beautiful day.

I chatted with Alyssa’s mom to find out more about all the planning that went into the event.

Alyssa’s mom, Nickie, and best friend, Natalie, came together to plan this fabulous bridal shower. They wanted to go “chic soiree” meets “girls night out”.

The bride did have some input on the theme…she wanted everyone to wear a shade of pink, wanted to keep it classy but not stuffy, and wanted to add some touches of romance. No boho for this bride! She gave the planning team some ideas and they took it from there.

As a 2022 bride-to-be, Alyssa definitely knows what she wants. She’s a classy young lady who’s stylish and trendy. She is gracefully stepping into her role as soon-to-be wife and family decision maker. We all agree she’s has become such inspiring young woman a wonderful role model for her family!

Party Details

Guest attire

  • Guests were asked to wear any shade of pink.

Decor

  • Color scheme – shades of pink, tan, and white
  • Long table with florals and lots of candles
  • Lovely dessert table with candy apples, custom cookies, cake, and cupcakes
  • Wood backdrop with a pink, peach, and white balloon garland and a peacock chair for the bride
  • Buffet table with beautiful chafing dishes, charcuterie, real wine and champagne glasses, and a wine & champagne bar
  • Had a lot of photos of the couple capturing them when they first started dating, and as they’ve grown up together
The guests enjoyed the decor, laughter, and fun

Games

  • THE PANTY GAME – Ask guests to bring an unwrapped pair of panties for the future Mrs. that perfectly reflects your personality! She will try to guess who brought which pair and add them to her ready to wear.
  • GUESS THE AGE – The family had several photos of both bride and groom in younger years; guests had to guess their age in each photo. The person with the most correct guesses wins a prize.
  • WHAT IS THE BRIDE WEARING – Ask the bride-to-be to leave the room and distribute the ‘what was the bride wearing?’ game cards among the guests. Ask the guests to answer the questions about the bride-to-be’s dress. Ask the bride-to-be to return to the room. The person with most correct answers will win.
  • BRIDE OR GROOM – A sequence of questions are asked during the game, and the answers are either “the bride” or “the groom. The person with most correct answers will win.

Show some love to your party crew. Who helped you plan?

  • The maid of honor Natalie – she’s awesome. Anything Alyssa wanted, she found a way to make it happen.
  • My sister Joyce – she helped with the games
  • The groom’s mom came early to help set up
  • My best friend, Michelle (Alyssa calls her Aunt Michelle), helped with the flower arrangements and table decor
  • My mom (Alyssa’s Grandma) helped the week of, did lots of things behind the scenes
  • All the bridesmaids had a part in helping
  • So many others helped as well. It felt so great knowing I can always count on so many people to pitch in.

How did your party go? What did your guests rave about most?

I heard nothing but good things from everyone who attended. Everyone said the party was so beautiful. It looked like everyone was having a great time. The night was perfect.

So many people at the party have known Alyssa since she was born, and are so excited to see her take the next step. My friends were tearing up, the party made everything so real.

One game that I think everyone loved was the “Drop the panties party game.” Everyone got so into it. We did the game close to when we opened the presents toward the end of the night, so by that time, everyone was ready to let loose and have some fun.

What vendors did you work with? Would you recommend them to others?

The vendors were all really great and helped make the party extra special.

Dessert table

  • Candy apples – Manzanita original – they were a big hit, sliced so people can sample and eat
  • Cake – My Bakery – simple and elegant, always a crowd favorite
  • Custom cookies and cupcakes – Aud Sweets, is a newer baker, she did a really nice job, they were all gone!

Decor

  • Balloons – Zucie’s Creations did a fantastic job, she even added extra florals to the peacock chair to tie the look together
  • Rentals – Oh She Poppin provided the peacock chair. A statement chair is a must for the bride to be, and this was a lovely one.
  • Rentals – Chairs were from All Valley Party Rentals, they always do a good job.
  • Rentals – Wood backdrop wall provided by Festively rentals; it was the perfect backdrop for all the photos!
  • Neon sign – A custom neon sign she can use for for the shower, the wedding and at home is a great idea

Bar

  • Stir sticks – The custom laser stir sticks by Sips and Soirees came out really cute and got lots of love from the guests.

Any last tips for someone hosting a party like this?

Planning a bridal shower is a lot of work! But it’s for my daughter, so of course I’d it over again in a heartbeat.

One tip I have: Soak it all in. I really took the time to enjoy the moment. I went to post pictures the next day and realized I didn’t take any! I spent the whole night spending time with everyone, trying to talk to as many people as I could, and truly enjoyed the moment. I recommend any mom of the bride do the same, soak it all in, because the time just flies by!

Me and Alyssa, almost ready for the big day!
